On the occasion of the Day of Women and Girls in Science, we were invited as speakers at the University of Tuscia. With our presentation, entitled "Voices of Science: A journey through stories, research, and social commitment with Mada Advances," we had the opportunity to address over 250 adolescents on topics such as handling failure, enhancing the role of women in science, and the importance of combating gender stereotypes in STEM.
We were invited as speakers to the international conference SYNC2024, organized by the Department of Chemistry at the University La Sapienza in Rome. The 2024 edition of the symposium focused on innovation and sustainability; within this framework, we presented our talk titled "Communicate wisely: a guide for combating 'washing' practices in science", during which we discussed the responsibility of researchers and communicators in curbing the phenomenon of greenwashing.
We were contacted by a Biotechnology student from Milan to help her participate in a STEM festival in Trieste (Trieste Next). Beatrice shared with us her inspiring story of determination and passion for science, and we were immediately happy to try to assist her. So, we started a fundraising campaign on her behalf. We managed to reach the goal of 500 euros in just two weeks. This amount was used to cover the costs of participation, food, and accommodation.
